FACTS
- Received initial mattress later then promised delivery date. Charged $100.00 for delivery, with no apologies.
- Initial latex "inserts" were inconsistent in thickness throughout the length, up to 1" difference.
- Phoned Halstead to speak about the inconsistency and was told that we were lying and there was no possible way that it could happen.
-Told to bring inserts on our own accord to there store and prove to them that they were incosistent.
- Transported inserts to the Halstead store only to be told again that we were lying even though their was visual thickness differences. Halstead representative produced a tape measure to take a reading and somewhat agreed that there was a difference.
- Halstead representative said he would order new inserts and that it would be 4 weeks.
- 4 Weeks later and no Inserts
- 6 Weeks later and finally the inserts show up, we were told we have to wait an indefinite amount of time to have them delivered, or pick them up ourselves. Initial $100.00 delivery charge would not be waived.
- A few months go buy sleeping on this mattress. Mattress is extremely hot and develops "body imprints"
- Imprints in mattress get deeper, noticeable ridges and height differences throughout mattress.
- Despite rotating mattress, imprints and ridges would reappear after a few night's sleep.
- Went to Halstead store to ask about inconsistencies. Was told that there was a defect in the topper material, and that is covered under warranty. Also was told to send pictures for evaluation.
- Halstead owner contacted me to arrange a visit to the house to see the mattress in person.
- Halstead owner arrived at house to examine the mattress. Agreed there was a defect in the topper and that it would be replaced under warranty. Also agreed to replace the latex inserts because of known heat issues with a different insert which has coils, no charge.
- Delivered topper to Halstead to exchange for warranty, was told due to some sweat stains on topper that warranty will not cover it. This is after a Halstead representative told us not to use a mattres protector for heat issues.
- Halstead owner withdrew all promises and emailed a quote for purchasing a new topper and new inserts at a so called 50% discount.
- No further communication has been initiated by Halstead as of October 12, 2010.
